Lynda Morris
Curator
Lynda Morris is Professor of Curation at Norwich University of the Arts, UK, where she established and curated the hugely successful EASTinternational open submission exhibition between 1991-2009. Lynda Morris studied at Canterbury College of Art from 1964 to 1969 and from 1971-73 at the Royal College of Art. She worked at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London on exhibitions including “When Attitudes Become Form” (1969) and “Edward Kienholz: 11 Tableaux” (1971). She then worked for Nigel Greenwood in London organising the first exhibition that presented exclusively artists' books based on Germano Celant’s 1970 article for DATA magazine, the “Book as Artwork 1960/1972”. She curated the first UK exhibitions of artists such as Agnes Martin, Bernd & Hilla Becher, Gerhard Richter and at EASTinternational, she made important early showings of the work of Martin Creed, Jeremy Deller and Phillida Barlow. More recently, Morris was co-curator of the exhibition “Picasso: Peace and Freedom” for Tate Liverpool (2010) and Albertina Museum in Vienna and the Louisiana Museum Humlebaek, Denmark in 2011.
