Kateřina Šedá
(1977, Brno, Czech Republic - lives and works in Prague, Czech Republic)
Since becoming a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Czech Republic in 1999, Šedá has staged interventions into the life around her she identifies as “normality”. These experiments have taken place in small villages near Brno, her home environment, as well as in the urban setting of her second home Prague. Based on rigorous research into behaviour and communication patterns in both art and non-art communities, Sedá has developed some poignant sociology-driven themes and spun around the truisms about production, consumption and meaning of contemporary art.
