Călin Dan

Calin Dan is a reference figure of the Romanian contemporary art world, visual artist, art critic and historian and also a cultural manager, with more than 30 years of activity. Founding member of the subREAL Group, present in the most important international exhibitions (Venice Biennial, Istanbul Biennial, Manifesta 1). Author of the long-term project Emotional Architecture / Arhitectura Emoțională (Prague Biennale, Sydney Biennale, movie festivals in Bonn, Split, La Rochelle). In the 90s, Călin Dan was the Chief editor of the 'Arta' magazine and also the promoter of the first events dedicated to local media art, as the director of the Soros Center for Contemporary Art. Calin Dan is currently the director of the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest (MNAC Bucharest).
