Apparatus 22 is a multidisciplinary art collective formed in January 2011 by current members: Erika Olea, Maria Farcaș, Dragoș Olea with Ioana Nemeș (*1979 Bucharest - † 2011, New York).
Apparatus 22 is exploring the intricate relationships between fashion and economics, politics, gender studies, social movements, religion etc in order to understand the contemporary society. In addition to the fine quality of social barometer, the collective views fashion as a huge and at the same time serious ludic space, suitable for experiments.
A string of very diverse works - installations, performances, text - shapes their practice in which reality is mixed with fiction and storytelling merges with a critical approach drawing knowledge & experience from design, sociology, literature and economics.
