Constantin Flondor
(1936, Cernăuți, România - lives and works in Timișoara, România)
Constantin Flondor is one of the most important contemporary Romanian artists. He studies painting at the "Nicolae Grigorescu" Institute in Bucharest, and in 1962 he becomes professor at the School of Fine Arts in Timișoara. He is involved in the development of the pedagogical program of Sigma Group as a member of the group and as the director of the high school (1969-1975). In 1964 he became member of the Union of Artists in Romania. In 1966, he is the co-founder of the 1 + 1 + 1 group, then in 1969 of the Sigma Group and then, in 1985, founder of the group Prolog.
Since 1991, he teaches at the Faculty of Art in West University of Timișoara and is invited as a teacher at Sommermalakademie Beratzhausen Germany.
