(1986, Cluj-Napoca, România - lives and works in Cluj-Napoca, România)
The ‘energy character’ appeared in my drawings since childhood. I remember that one day I developed this character who is living in the Internet; he doesn’t have a specific shape, he just takes the form generated by the terminal. Every computer in the network is a neuron and generates a virtual reality where time and space are programmable; imagine that in my painting I take energy from the old masters’ technique; when I paint a robot I think about Rubliov, or about the roman mosaic, but the thing about my painting is that I actually represent abstractions. [...] I do videos to join ideas from different media. [...] The video is like a glasshouse, while my objects and décor are the plants. Sometimes I consider my paintings sketches of atmosphere for future installations and video works.
